GREENCHANGE starts the works in the Agro pontino

GREENCHANGE starts the environmental redevelopment works in the Agro pontino, thanks to the European funding of the LIFE programme.

The interventions concern the section of the Ufente river in the territory of the Municipality of Pontinia and the Gelasio Caetani farm in the Municipality of Latina. The Province of Latina, leader of the project, visited the construction sites during the web monitoring meeting with the project partners.

The companies in charge will create wetlands capable of hosting amphibians, birds and mammals that will find shelter, rest, feeding and reproduction. The windbreak strips and the planting of native shrubs and trees will serve to strengthen the ecological connectivity of the areas.

During the monitoring meeting the partner Miema – Malta Intelligent Energy Management Agency – explaneid the same interventions that will be carried out in the rural areas of Malta and in the island of Gozo.
